Packet Pickup Information

We like to make it as easy as possible for you to get what you need for the race. Here is the list of packet pick up locations.

(1) Tuesday, January 15th: Runtex (422 West Riverside Drive) 5pm – 7pm

(2) Wednesday, January 16th: The Tavern (12th & Lamar) 6:30pm – 8:30pm

(3) Thursday, January 17th: Hopfields (3110 Guadalupe St.) 7pm – 9pm

(4) Friday, January 18th: Runtex (422 West Riverside Drive) 11:30 am – 6:30 pm

(5) Race Day, January 19th: Runtex 7am- 8:30am

Can’t make it to one of the scheduled packet pick ups before the race? No problem. Friends or family members may pick up items for you!

About the 2013 Austin Gorilla Run

When you run in the Austin Gorilla Run you:
1) Run a fun 5K with your friends
2) Benefit mountain gorillas
3) Keep your gorilla suit
4) Enjoy lunch and an after party

RunTex and Thirsty Planet have been instrumental in supporting the Austin Gorilla Run and raising funds for the Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund (MGCF).

Proceeds from the race directly benefit the Ruth Keesling Wildlife Health and Research Center in Kampala, Uganda. The brand new facility will include two main lecture halls with seating for 100 students, two large scale research laboratories, postgraduate and grant research offices. The lower section will contain a Wildlife Disease Surveillance Biohazard Level 1 Bio Bank. A first of its kind research center for Africa!

In 1987 there were only 248 mountain gorillas alive in the world, but through the veterinary and conservation efforts of the MGCF, we are proud to announce the population is currently estimated at 880!
