The epic Austin Gorilla Run is on January 19th, 2013 starting at 9am. Race day includes various fun filled events such as a costume contest prior to the race and an after party with live music by The Good Nights.  In addition to the race day extravaganza there are many other fun events to promote the race, raise money for the Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund, and make merry with other gorilla supporters!

Packet Pickups:

This year there will be multiple locations and times for packet and pickup (this includes your gorilla suit!). We’re making it as easy as possible for you to get what you need for this race.

Tuesday, January 15th – RunTex (W. Riverside) from 5pm to 7pm

Wednesday, January 16th – The Tavern (12th & Lamar) from 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Thursday, January 17th – Hopfields (3110 Guadalupe St.) from 7pm to 9pm

Friday, January 18th – RunTex (W. Riverside) from 11:30am to 6:30pm

Race morning, January 19th – RunTex (W. Riverside) from 7am to 8:30am

Planet of the Apes

Save the Date! On January 6th at 4pm we will be having a “Thirsty Planet of the Apes” event at the Alamo Ritz. It will be a charity screening of the original Planet of the Apes movie with a portion of ticket sales going to MGCF.  We’re hoping for a theater full of gorillas! Click here to purchase tickets.

Silverback Pale Ale Beer Launch

On Saturday, December 1st Thirsty Planet Brewery will tap their first keg of this year’s batch of Silverback Pale Ale. This beer is made specifically for the Austin Gorilla Run with a portion of all proceeds going to the Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund (MGCF).
